Sightseeings
Vaibla and area around it is rich
for many sightseeings and is an exciting area for everyone from
camping fans and nature-curious people as well as there is a lot
for history and culture interested groups.
You can enjoy a beautiful sunset from our own Vaibla promenade
by taking a long walk. Vaibla is a popular holiday spot from
1960's. Visitors love Vaibla beach and it is especially popular
among families with children, because water gets warm quickly and
it is not very deep in Vaibla lake.
Also there is something for surfers- it is a place where
legendary Tondisaare surf-maraton starts. And of course- there is
achance to go fishing or sailing- straight to the sunset!
Võrtsjärve area is rich for its species. There are 92 types od
birds and over 35 different species of fishes.
Couple of km away from Vaibla, there are thousands of hectars of
forests and bogs, where you can enjoy silent and have time for
yourself.
Mustjärv is a place for all nature-friends- small natural
boglake, which is only 2km from Võrtsjärve. You can access the
water if you walk along the boardwark along north shore. This lake
belongs to Natura 2000 network.
From Meleski to the north is Alam-Pedja Nature Reserve, which is
unique because of its untouched nature in whole Europe.
Tamme paljand is also not a less beautiful place, which is also
a Nature Reserve and located within eastern shore of Võrtsjärve-
between Tamme and Neemisküla area.
Vaibla is an important place for bird lovers. On 1987, Heinrich
Veromann founded an station where all birds get checked and market
at the north shore of Võrtsjärve lake. Over 62 000 have gone
through that station in that time.
There are quite a lot of legends about Võrtsjärv. People talk
about lake travelling and of creation of Vitsjärv, about a church
that disapared into the ground, about the Devil's bridge and rocks
that were thrown by Kalevipoeg and a devil.
Take off some time and enjoy all that excitement and beauty
around Vaibla!
